Goldmine reports that MCA and PolyGram had wanted to release The Who's first three albums on CD a year earlier but The Who asked for more money than either record label thought they were worth. They also report that a Who box set is in the works. The project gets as far as a preliminary compilation tape before the project is cancelled.
